OUR FOUNDER
Om Wadhwa’s life was marked by dramatic upheavals and bold decisions. Born into a wealthy family in Malakwal village, undivided Punjab, in 1938, his family lost everything during the partition and started anew in India. Despite the odds, Om’s instincts and relentless work ethic led him to remarkable success in the Indian electronics industry. His journey began with an unexpected scholarship to America, where he earned advanced degrees and worked in various roles before returning to India to establish a successful electronics manufacturing business. As a revered entrepreneur, he introduced iconic brands like Samsung and Sony to the Indian market and significantly contributed to the industry. Later in life, Om founded the Metores Trust, dedicating himself to philanthropy, particularly in girls’ education and healthcare, while continuing to be honored for his lifelong service.
